Dingle - also known as "An Daingean" as per this flickr photo by Gerard Lovett

It always surprises me the way Dingle grabs peoples hearts, then I return to Wokingham and the grip that Dingle has on me is so much more obvious. Maybe my English blood forms a barrier to recognising the draw that this place has. It should be a tacky tourist town by all the ways I can describe it, but when I chat to anyone who visits, they tell me how they are overtaken by the hidden characters of the place, maybe there are good ghosts promoting the place, maybe I am sensitive to the negative rather than the special spirit of the people of Dingle when I am with them. But Dingle is a place I can only say to visit, not for a hour or a day (although an hour is better than none) but stay somewhere West of Dingle and visit during the day and during the late evenings of Summer. Dingle should not be rushed. With too much English ancestary I guess I do too much rushing. West of Dingle is good for the soul!

I have some Gift suggestions

Katie Ellen is a talented singer / songwriter from Liverpool UK with a style all of her own. Armed with only an acoustic guitar and her unique voice, Katie sings about what we all feel but are too afraid to tell. Although inspired by other acoustic female artists, such as KT Tunstall and Norah Jones, Katie Ellen produces music that is truly hers. Her voice has a harmonic quality that impossible to mistake for anyone else. Katie Ellen is currently recording an album, the tracks from which will be available here. Her first single, 'Good Times Never Last' was officially released on Monday 16th April 2007.
